Come and visit us on the farm!
We would love to host a farm visit for you and your kiddos! (Or let’s be honest. Just you. Kids are welcome but not required!) Come pet our hilarious goats and donkeys, then go on a ride in a side-by-side to check our cattle, including Theodore Moosevelt (Teddy), our highland bull or his buddy, Big T, a former bottle baby who still loves people and treats! Sit on or ride one of our gentle horses with assistance, love on some sweet barn kitties, and snap memorable photos of everything! From time to time, we will have baby goats to hold and play with! You never know what fun you’ll encounter on the farm!

“Sit with animals quietly, and they will show you their hearts. Sit with them kindly, and they will help you locate yours.”
The Farm
-
Carlisle
Carlisle was an early Christmas present from Matt to Angela in 2023. Carlisle came to the farm at two weeks old and was slow to warm up to human interaction. Those days are long gone. Carlisle is a lover. He’s not too keen on strangers, but every now and then he’ll politely introduce himself in hopes of getting a treat. His father was 2500 pounds, and he is expected to grow to be approximately the same size.
-
Teddy
Teddy is short for Theodore Moosevelt. He is a registered Highland bull, and is still growing! Teddy is very gentle and loves getting treats. The only problem is, he has no idea he has horns, so we always have to be watchful when loving on him!
-
North
North is our most well-bred horse, coming from a famous lineage that includes a number of renowned American horses. Though North comes from royalty, her claim to fame is that she is the horse who bucked off Matt in 2020, breaking his leg. (She is truly apologetic and has been forgiven.) Recently North has undergone intensive training by one of the country’s leading horse trainers and is performing like a champ.
-
Grisham
Grisham, the baby Nigerian Dwarf goat, is our newest addition to the farm. Grish's mom had triplets and decided not to accept him (as mama goats sometimes do with multiples.) We took on the task of bottle feeding the little guy, and today Grisham lives the easy life, fully convinced he is more dog than goat. Our cattle dogs, Bo Mack and Tallulah, act as his protectors and playmates, and we enjoy every moment of Grisham's silly antics!
-
Moose
Moose is a beast! He’s by far our largest horse, and it matches his big personality. Moose, Maisey, and Marshmallow came to us together, and the three continue to enjoy one another’s company but fight like siblings sometimes. Moose’s most notable characteristic is his adorable, split ear.
-
Mae
Mae came to us from a sale barn in Oklahoma already bred. After the longest pregnancy in the history of the world (a donkeys’ gestation is 11-14 months,) she gave birth to George Bailey. Mae has the sweetest disposition of all our animals combined. From time to time, Charlie the goat will hop on her back for a free ride, and somehow Mae allows it.
-
George Bailey
George Bailey’s birth was one of the most exciting moments ever on the farm. Since then, GB has kept us on our toes! She’s an absolute rascal and even sometimes tries to sit in Angela's lap! (Uninvited, of course.) George Bailey is frisky but friendly and the funniest donkey we know.
-
Big T
Big T lives in the field with our large herd. T's mom was unable to feed him as a newborn calf, and we were tasked with his care. Even after being returned to the herd when he was old enough, Big T still comes running to us for treats and pets. His favorite way to show love is by licking and sucking on hands or clothing. (When meeting Big T, rain jackets are suggested.)
-
Maisey
Maisey is a cremello horse, meaning she has a gene that causes her coat to be cream-colored, along with pink skin and glass blue eyes. Like North, Maisey also has famous family members, namely Dry Doc, one of the most renowned American Quarter Horses. Maisey is a bit bougie, and from time to time, likes to dress up for photo shoots and princess parties We have to say, she makes a stunning unicorn (even if her horn is almost always crooked.)
-
Swiper
Swiper was unfortunate enough to be named by Matt. We typically name our sets of babies according to a theme. When it was Matt’s turn, he chose a Dora the Explorer theme (much to everyone’s dismay.) Swiper is Flopsy’s baby and Spud’s younger brother. One of his many fun characteristics is that he is the most animated goat and always brings the facial expressions for photos.
-
Bo Mack
Bo Mack was a 16th birthday present for Belle, Matt and Angela’s oldest daughter. However, much to Belle's dismay, Bo Mack immediately bonded with Matt. Where Matt goes, Bo follows. Bo Mack lives to work, especially when it comes to cattle. He’s incredibly protective of his people, and though he’s never hurt a soul, he specializes in intimidating and herding people where he thinks they should go.
-
Milo
Milo and his sister, Roarke, were rescue kittens and the very first "pets" on the farm! The two were found on the side of the road by a good samaritan who was a friend of a friend. We took them in as tiny kittens, and they have been a farm staple ever since. Milo is the chief mouser and never turns down affection. He has the best purrs and loves to greet friends with a good leg rub. He's a roamer, though, and from time to time is nowhere to be found! Eventually he always turns up, ready for attention!
-
Post Malone
Post was named by the Slaughter children when they were younger and was the very first goat on the farm! We acquired her from friends after her mate passed away, and she was in distress over the loss. Post “rules the roost” in the goat pens, demanding respect from all. She holds the record for giving birth to the most baby goats at once. Her last set was quadruplets!
-
Flopsy
Believe it or not, Flopsy found us! Several years ago, she showed up at the farm out of the blue! A neighbor told us he’d been seeing her wandering around in the woods for months. We named her Flopsy because when she came to us, she was wearing a rusted ear tag that caused her ear to flop over. Flopsy has given birth to two sets of triplets and was an excellent mama to her babies!
-
Roarke
Roarke is Milo's sister. Ro has the sweetest disposition and the loveliest long hair. She almost always purrs at the sight of a new friend and is the happiest kitty. Like Milo, she tends to wander the land but always comes back around when she's ready for her gourmet can of cat food.
-
Tallulah
Tallulah came to us from an Australian Cattle Dog breeder near Danville, AR. (Though we try to rescue as many animals as possible, it’s important that our cattle dogs have good breeding for the important work they do on the farm.) That said, Tallulah’s favorite hobby is barking at and chasing rocks. (No, we're not kidding. Rocks.)
-
Spud Jones
Spud was one of a set of triplets born to Flopsy. He was the funniest baby goat, solidifying his status as “STAYS ON THE FARM.” Spud is the tallest goat on the farm and is still known for his silly antics. His favorite pastimes are begging for treats and butting heads with his little brother, Swiper. Spud and his sisters were our Steel Magnolias theme babies. His sisters were M'Lynn and Truvy.
-
Scarlett
Scarlett came to us from a horse sale in Oklahoma. When Matt saw her, he knew she was meant to be his. He trained her himself, and she has become one of our most solid, reliable horses. Scarlett has appointed herself “boss babe” over the other horses and is never afraid to assert her dominance.
-
Millie Nelson
Millie came to the farm via family friend. She is our only goat who doesn’t much care for love and attention. Millie is half myotonic. Some people call this type of goat, “fainting goats.” Myotonic goats have a condition that causes them to stiffen or fall over when scared or excited. Since Millie is half fainting goat, only her back legs seize when she’s startled.
-
Charlie
Charlie was part of Post Malone’s quads-our Top Gun theme group. Sadly, Post chose not to accept her from birth which made Charlie a bottle baby out of necessity. Charlie spent a week with her human grandparents when Matt and Angela went out of town, and when they returned, she was wearing pajamas and had forgotten she was a goat. Charlie's favorite mode of transportation is hitching a ride on Mae the Donkey's back.
-
Sattler
Sattler was one of a litter of kittens that were abandoned near the farm. Loving homes were found for the rest of Sattler's brothers and sisters, but the Slaughter fam couldn't part with this sweet boy. Don't let his cantankerous facial expressions fool you. Satty is a lover! Though he's a bit timid with strangers, once he warms up, his purr motor stays topped out. His favorite hobby is chasing mice.
-
Marshmallow
Marshmallow is a bit shy, but she is incredibly sweet once she feels comfortable. Like Maisey, Marshmallow has participated in several farm photo shoots and facies herself to be quite the model. In the wintertime, her white hair gets thick and fluffy, hence her name!
We had such a great experience at the farm! Our little guy was so excited to see all the animals. We can’t wait to come back!
